Halloween Recap!

We had a ball on Halloween night! My brother, Nate and his family always come to our house for dinner and trick-or-treating since their closest neighbor is over a mile away! As usual, the kiddos got loads of candy and were worn out at the end of the night...
Anna was an owl, Mac was The Grim Reaper, and Elan was a hunter.
We watched Goonies with the kids the Saturday before Halloween, so they wanted to carve the pumpkin like "One-Eyed Willie."
The sweetest kid being something scary!

Anna looked precious as an owl!

This is Elan's mean hunting face.

Here's a nice group picture of the kids...
My dad is putting Claudia in the photo and really, she wanted to have no part of it. Elan looks like the biggest buck just got away, and the girls, well, they just look so darn cute! They were ready to fill their bags with loot!
I hope you all had a safe, happy Halloween. Now that it's November, I'm frantically getting stuff together for my holiday show and thinking ahead to the Christmas crafts I want to do! Enjoy the weekend!

No tricks... just treats!

Happy Halloween! Today, I wanted to share the last of my Halloween cards that I made...

This one is for my crafty niece, Kendall that loves *glitter*! The witch is covered in crystal glitter and her shoes are red. Kendall is also going to be a candy corn witch for Halloween, so "good little witch" was perfect!
These last two are just random... no one in mind and they didn't even get sent! Sheesh... I am bad at actually getting a card in the mail.

Hope you and all the little goblins out there have a happy, safe Halloween! I'll post a picture of my little creeps dressed up tomorrow! Anna's costume is a hoot! ;)

'Tis near Halloween...

I have made several Halloween cards this week! Here is another using the papers from Fancy Pants "Oct. 31st" collection. The vintage image is from an Etsy shop... forgot the name.
Tonight, I have declared it "Family Movie Night." I feel like we have all been going is several different directions pretty much since school started. So, a pot roast for dinner and snuggling in PJ's tonight in front of the TV. Sounds good, huh?! Now, if we can all agree on a family movie...

Hello, My Pretty!

It's almost Halloween! I have my house decorated with pumpkins, witches and gourds and the kids are always jacked up on the bowls of candy corn I have in the house! It smells good with the candles lit and soup is on the stove. Ahhh... the autumn season is here!
Lovin' this card mostly because of that homemade broom I made with a scrap of kraft paper and my handy dandy Martha Stewart fringe scissors! I tied it together with a bit of twine and inked the edges of the paper. I also glittered the witches shoes in red.
Inspiration for this little gem was brought to you by:

And, Paper Craft Star's 67th challenge: Trick or Treat!
Enjoy, my pretties!

Happy Halloween!

Thought I would share a picture of my little goblins... These are a couple of cards I made last year, I still love the simple, vintage style. Sadly, all 8 that I made have sold.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Halloween Treats

Let me tell you about the treat I found today... Pumpkin Egg Nog! You know it's holiday time when you find Egg Nog at the local grocery store! Woo-hoo! I LOVE the stuff and wished they carried it all year long... now, back to sipping on thousands of calories laced with a bit of bourbon!

It's been busy around here with Halloween and end of season soccer banquets, but we have managed to stay afloat and continue to gorge ourselves with candy. I hope there is enough left for the trick-or-treaters. Speaking of treats again, here is the little goody bag that the kids took in to their teachers yesterday:A delicious mixture of candy corn and peanuts... who could resist?! Yum!
The stamp I used is from Stampin' Up! and it says, "It's Halloween... enjoy every bite!" I used a polka dot background stamp to make the tag base and the black and white is an adhesive border from Colorbok. I finished it off with orange tulle and black and orange raffia.

And now, a special little something... I am doing a giveaway for one lucky, crafty lady. Her name is LEA. Lea, you just won a feltie and personalized stationery of your choice. Please email me at profumo@bellsouth.net and I will give you all the details! Congrats! ;)

I will continue to do a giveaway to one lucky blog follower a month. I am not basing it on comments or contests, just picking someone at random! Enjoy the rest of the weekend and spread the love...

Best Witches!

Morning! I ventured off to a "new to me" card sketch challenge this week... 2 Sketches 4 You. It's a cute challenge blog that offers 2 sketches for you to create from, and we all know how I love a good sketch! It gets the juices flowing! So, here's one of the two that I chose to do:

The card... another Halloween one. The yellow ruffle is crepe paper and the rest is all scraps leftover from scrappin'. Notice the 31 on the yellow crossword puzzle paper? :)

If you haven't visited 2 Sketches 4 You, take a peek... you'll like what you see! ;)

Two for One!

It's Wednesday, and that means I bust my hump to get my Sketchy Thursdays project uploaded in time! Well, I have a treat for you... the sketch was quick, easy and wonderful, and I made a layout and a card!
So, presenting the sketchy sketch...

My Card... a Halloween one, because it's coming up and it's my fave holiday! ;) My Layout... brace yourself, this is a funny one...
The mustaches are not photo-shopped in... they are those stick on ones. Stephen and I laughed ourselves silly when Mac and Anna put them on! So funny...
Sorry I have been MIA the past several days. Elan has been sick with fever and barfs over the weekend, and today he woke up cursed with the Ohio Valley allergies. Stay tuned... I have pre-scheduled posts lined up for the next few days! Wa-hoo! Have a great night!

Autumn Layouts

I know it's spring, but this is usually the time that I scrap Halloween and Christmas photos from sometimes, years past! This time around, I made life a little easier by using the 6 up 4x6 page protectors by American Crafts. That way, I can stick the photos in them, a journaling card and next to it, the layout. Some examples:
The Layout...
The Page Protector...The Layout...
The Page Protector...
And this particular Halloween, I only had these 2 pictures, so I went ahead and stuck them on a layout...
So, if you're in the mood to scrap some Halloween and pumpkin patch pics, here's a little inspiration for ya'! And for tomorrow, Christmas!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Hello everybody! Sorry it's been a few days since my last post, but I have been busy with all kinds of holiday projects. Truthfully, this time of year, I will only post every few days. I have lots of holiday orders to fill and a big show coming up that I have to have lots of stock for! However, I know you come here for ideas and inspiration, so without further ado, here are a couple of things to view for some creative delight:
This is the birthday card I made for my dear friend, Emily. She is the friend that you can always count on for anything: to pick up your kids, dinner if you're sick or had a baby, the shoulder you can comfortably cry on, a counselor, a good advice giver, and the friend you can call at 7:00 a.m. I know you're jealous and wish you had a friend just like her! Actually, I hope you do... everybody needs an "EMILY."
The last couple of days, I have been creating Christmas cards. Here are TWO that I made that are instant faves!
I love the bold pink and green color on this card. It's just a bunch of green paper strips to form a tree and a circle and star punch for ornaments. I think the rounded edges makes it interesting.

The Stocking Card! Ooo... love this. Lot's of pretty things to look at! The brown paper is for a "mantle" look. Mom suggested the chocolate ribbon and raspberry trim- they are beautiful together! Thanks, mom!

Both of the cards above will be for sale at the Temptations Holiday Boutique coming up on November 17-18-19 in Louisville, KY. Hope to see some of you locals there!

And, last, but not least, my little chickens on Halloween:

Cute, not creepy!

I love all this Halloween paper so much that I made several more festive cards. Here is one that I love. Look at that little boys face!

And, this is a package of 8 folded notes that will be for sale on my website soon. I'm coming up with lots of new designs for the holidays. Thanks to all the Caardvarks sketches a couple weeks ago, it has inspired me to really go the extra mile to make cute, unique cards, packages and gifts.
I will be posting some holiday goods soon! I have vowed to make most of my gifts this year, so I started early! I have to be careful what I share though! ;)

Hope you get to create this weekend!

Show and Share

Hi there! Last week, a glorious package came for me in the mail. It was a huge box of Halloween goodies that I won on a blog. It was full of 12x12 Bazzil cardstock, the new line of Basic Grey Halloween papers and stickers, ribbons, stamps and even foam adhesive. Seriously? I was super excited. I immediately made a thank you note to send out to the generous blogger that I won it from. This is what I made and everything I used was from the box of goodies that I received! And, to keep with the Halloween theme, here is my favorite collection of decorations. This is in my foyer. I love my new and vintage pumpkins and it gives the entrance to my home such a warm feel!
A closer look at those cute jack-o-lanterns...And that's all for show and share.
Don't forget about my giveaway! I'll draw a winner on Thursday. For what you can win and all the details, click here.

Halloween Mini Kit

This is a Halloween mini kit that I got from Sammye Jo, over at 62Cards. She sells this mini album kit (along with several other super cute kits) in her Etsy shop. I loved all the papers and embellishments in the kit and have a ton left over. I plan to save it all and add a new page each year. The only items I added to this were letter stickers from my stash, black ink, and foam adhesive. Everything else was included in the kit. Click here to get yours!

COVER:
Page 1, 2005:
A little Mr. Incredible and a purple Octopus
Page 2:
All the loot... they were in heaven!
Page 3, 2006:
A Robin, and a green and purple polka dot Frog
Page 4, 2007 (with our newest addition who hated Halloween)
A Prince, a Gypsy, and a Giraffe
Page 5, 2008:
A Batman, a Cinderella, and a Cowboy

Thank you, Sammye Jo, I had a ball putting this album together and can't wait to add to it each year as a wonderful keepsake of our past Halloweens as a family. Enjoy!
