April is coming...

Hey, Y'all! OK, I feel like I have been a little MIA lately, but I'm here... I'm creating and crafting and filling lots of orders! It's been busy, but a wonderfully good busy! Lot's of new stationery designs are coming to my web site soon, so I will let you know when they are ready for view and a generous coupon will fly your way too! Perfect timing for Mother's Day and graduation gifts!

Today, I'm gunna share this little card I made with scraps. The flower tiles are glazed with acrylic to make them shiny and hard. The button is GCD Studios, from the Melody Ross line. I like this card 'cause I can use it for anything... there isn't a sentiment, so I can quickly stamp one inside for the appropriate occasion! It's gorgeous today... And tomorrow, APRIL is here! I have lots of things planned for April: my birthday, a few giveaways, my anniversary, Wrigley's birthday, a new niece will be born, a couple of nieces' birthdays, and lots of pretty projects! Whew! You don't want to miss a single day, so sign up to FOLLOW me! Sometimes, it's okay to be a follower!

*Tomorrow (April 1) will be the first GIVEAWAY! Sign in as a Follower to be entered in the drawing!
*Lots of scrap layouts will be up this week! Yay! They are good ones!

Have a great day!

New Caardvarks Challenge!

It's time for another new challenge over at Caardvarks! This time, the challenge is to use lace on your project. I don't work much with lace, but it just so happens my mom does and a while back, she gave me lots of scraps! So, here's what I made:
The lace is vintage, so I have no idea where it came from, and was probably my Grandmother's before it was my mom's! I love the look of it with that October Afternoon paper!

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink; Patterned Paper: October Afternoon; Inchie Tiles: Inchie Arts, LLC; Inks: Impress; Ribbon: May Arts; Stamps: Impress (flower) and Anna Griffin (sentiment); Other: Button, thread and lace.

My Boys...

Are now B A L D!
Stephen and Mac got their heads shaved on Saturday at the Annual St. Baldrick's Day event at Mac's school. Together, they raised over $1,600 to help with childhood cancer research, and shaving their heads to show support for the kids in the fight for their life. I'm so proud of both of them!
BEFORE:
AFTER:

A couple more pictures from the event (I couldn't resist...)

Getting shaved, lots of hair was taken off!

Mac, the 7 year old kiddo with the BIGGEST heart of anyone I know. He was so proud that he raised as much money as he did. Look at that face... precious!

Thanks to all who donated and came out to the event to cheer them on! Now, just hoping for either warmer weather or rapid hair growth!

Vintage Thank You

Hellooo! I found a new blogaroo, The Shabby Tea Room, and I made this card for their first challenge. The challenge was based off of this image from Better Homes and Gardens:

And here is my card:

I'm also submitting this card to these two challenge site:
The Pink Elephant- "Spring"
Pile It On- "Pastel Colors"
Yes, this photo stinks to high heaven, but it's the best one I could get (sorry!). I made the big dahlia looking flower with paper scraps, a couple of punches and some inked edges. The sentiment stamp is an oldie from Anna Griffin and the center flower is American Crafts, the Dear Lizzy line.
Hope you have a happy Thursday! I have a date tonight with my girlfriends!

Coffee Love...

Happy St, Patrick's Day! The kids and I are decked out in green today and that's pretty much the extent of our celebrating!
I have a layout to share... I used this sketch from Sketchy Thursdays:And, going with the challenge of scrappin' your favorite drink over at These Are a Few of My Favorite Things, this is what I came up with:
And a close up... that is an actual coffee stain...
I LOVE coffee! My day doesn't start until I've had a cup or two or three... I treat myself way too much to our local coffee shop Heine Brothers and Starbucks, too. I like is strong, drink it black and consider it a necessity.
Hope you enjoy! Drink a stout beer tonight with your fish 'n chips!

Monsters are Get[ting] Sketchy!

Again, working from a sketch! Get Sketchy is not necessarily *new* to me, but this is the first challenge I have participated in with them! Here's the sketch:
Here's my card:

Do you love those monsters? I made this card for my oldest brother's 40th birthday. He loved it- and those monsters? They represent me and my siblings! The inside was just as good and darn it! I didn't take a pic of it!

Supplies: Monster stickers: American Crafts; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Chipboard Arrow: K&Co.; Letter Stickers: October Afternoon; Other: circle punch and brown ink.

You're so Sweet...

Sweet Saturday... here's a card I made for my friend, Erin's birthday this week. I love that cherry stamp from Papertrey Ink.
I tried out a new tool- Cutter Bee Bugs from EK Success. It's a rotary piercer that makes holes so you can stitch your card or paper. This is super fabulous for people that love the stitched look, but can't get their sewing machine to work (like me!). I got it at my LSS for around $8 and it included a set of 2. Enjoy your weekend, I hope to do a little crafting today... it's gloomy and chilly here.

All Dogs Go to Heaven...

Today is Friday, which means it's my day to post at the 2 Cute blog and the weekend is here!

This week, I chose to work with the doggie angel digi. Have you ever had a friend or family member lose a dog or favorite pet? If so, you know that finding the right/perfect card can be a daunting task. Well, this dog digi image is adorably sweet and the sentiment goes along quite nicely... The inside reads, "so sorry for your loss." You can't tell from the picture, but the halo is on foam tape so it pops up just a bit.

And, this time, I remembered to hold out the Copics I used. So, there you have it... a little animal sympathy card for today! If you want to purchase this or any other digi stamp from 2 Cute, click here.
Enjoy your weekend! ;)

Studio Calico Sunday Sketch

Hello there! This week I decided to participate in the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch! It's a great sketch using 3 photos- all the guesswork is done for you when you use a sketch! I love that part! And, lets not forget the part that I have lots of unused Studio Calico kits that need to be busted into... here's the sketch...
And my sketchy take...closer...
I think this is the Homefront kit, but not certain. The only thing I used that wasn't in the kit, was a scrap of blue paper, brown ink, a circle and border punch, and Glimmer Mist in tattered leather.
********
And... a BIG shout out to my girlie, ERIN! Happy Birthday, doll face!

Celebrate Sunshine!

Oh, happy day! The sun is shining, the temperature is warm and the kids are playing outside- a perfect spring day! Hope you found time to enjoy it too!
This is a LO I did this past weekend at the crop with my girlfriends. I made it special for my sweet niece, Kendall. Kendall has a new pink room and is preparing for a new baby sister too! I used some new GCD paper (Homespun Chic) and American Crafts (Dear Lizzy) paper, embellies, and stamp, and a few other little do-dads! I framed it in a white wooden shadow box frame and gave it to her today. Sometimes, parting is such sweet sorrow!

A close up of my fave part- the handmade flowers!Have a lovely day! Get some sun on your face...

*Great* Aunt Chrissy

Aunt Chrissy isn't really my aunt... she is my mom's best friend and we have always just called her "Aunt Chrissy." She is horribly hilarious and uses vulgar language which I absolutely adore in her. Whenever I'm with her, my sides hurt from laughing and I'm completely exhausted from all her funny stories!
We were recently together at my dad's retirement party and again, she had me in hysterics! We snuck off to a room by ourselves and told one funny story after the next. We had a ball catching up because we just don't see each other enough.
So, I had this picture of us taken that night. I thought it was cute and wanted to send her a copy. I also wanted to make it a little special. I pulled out my handy dandy Xyron machine and made it into a refrigerator magnet! I decorated the picture with patterned paper and rub-ons, and shoved it through my Xyron. Lastly, I added my handmade button with some ribbon. Aunt Chrissy got the package yesterday and called me today to tell me she loved it. We had a few more laughs on the phone before saying good-bye. She is the best...

Sketchy Challenge

Good day, sunshine! It's so super pretty here today, so this is gonna be a fast post so I can get my tush outside! This week I played along with Sketchy Thursdays. Every Thursday, they provide a sketch to create with.
Here is this Thursdays sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch...

This is Elan and his first friend, Liam (my bestest craftin' bud, Elizabeth's son). The supplies I used are a random mix of cute things. I am also submitting this to a "new to me" blog: These Are a Few of My Favorite Things. This weeks challenge is to create a LO/card about your fave friend. If you want to play along with Sketchy Thursdays, you have until Wednesday night! Go check out both blogs and play along!

Scrap Time!

Well, I got to go scrappin' with the girlies last night and had a ball. We laughed and ate and shared, and even did a little scrappin'! I didn't get home until 3am and I only got 2 pages done! Insane, I know, but it was good quality girl time! I will share my {only} two pages tomorrow. In the mean time, here's one to hold you over that I did on Thursday.
These pictures were taken on the "Coaster Cam" at Kings Island. The pictures are priceless and every time I look at them I giggle...

Mac's face just tells it all- terrifying the first time and a blast the second time! I had a lot of fun doing this page- I got out my Studio Calico kit and some paint, did a little doodling around the edges, busted out some stickers, and so on... It's fun- exactly the look I was going for to showcase these awesome pictures!

Enjoy!

A No Good, Very Bad...

Past two weeks! Ahhh! It's been one thing after another with hospital visits, a burn victim, and 3 out of 5 with a terrible case of the stomach flu. GROSS. I have done countless loads of laundry and stripped beds so many times the sheets are almost threadbare! It's time for a break...
I have been forced into staying at home for the past 9 days with sick ones, but I have gotten to do a little crafting. My kids have also joined in the creativity, in between potty trips. The two little ones have become Cuttlebug pros, and Elan has also learned to use scissors and Glue Dots really well.

Just wanted to stop in and say "I'M HERE! HERE I AM!" And tonight, I'll leave you with the cutest picture of the week:
Wrigley doing his part for the family... taking care of all the sick animals. Thanks, buddy.
