I *like* this card, but I don't love it. Notice the BIG, F A T boo-boo? I stitched one of the leaves wrong... ahhh! I tried to redeem myself by adding red buttons for berries and showering them with glitter. Still, all I can see is non-uniform stitching. It's all good though, I'll send it to someone that won't notice, or at least someone that can't see well.
On a side note: the one thing I keep going back to to make my weekly holiday card is the Basic Grey "Jovial" paper pad. I love it and goes with pretty much any theme you work with. I love the prints and plaids!
And one more thing... It has been very easy for me to crank out these holiday cards each week. Why? Not only because Jingle Belles has great prompts, awesome sketches, and so forth, but I also have ALL of my Christmas stuff in one folder. That's right... paper, stickers, rub-ons, and embellishments are neatly gathered in a plastic folder for scrapbooking. So, when I'm ready to tackle the Jingle Belles challenge, all I need to do is reach for the holiday folder and BAM! A card is born.
Every time I come hang out on your blog I find some cool new tunes ... and a cool new holiday card. Seriously, love those holly leaves and I wouldn't have even noticed the stitching if you didn't point it out ... it rocks. Thanks for joining our jingle belles fun.
ReplyDeletedude! your (amazing HANDMADE one-of-a-kind gorgeous felt) holly is TOTALLY jolly!!! and seriously...i wouldn't have noticed the stitching AT ALL b/c the leaves and "berries" are so gorgeous and such a perfect accent for this lovely card!!! so THERE!!! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteps: i keep all my xmas stuff together, too; it's just soooooo much easier!
I love how cool this card looks - the vintage vibe is a personal favorite and you made your holly, that's very creative (and it looks good, stop being so hard on yourself, lady!).
ReplyDeleteThat plaid paper is terrific, btw, as if didn't know that!
i love the felt holly and i would never have noticed the stitching if you hadn't mentioned it ;-) lovely card and I agree, I have all my Christmas stuff in one place and it's so easy to just grab and go. great card
ReplyDeleteWe are our own worst critics, and I totally didn't even see the stitching until you pointed it out!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME self-made leaves, by the way! And, oh yeah, Basic Grey. Mmmmmm. I'm partial to the eskimo kisses paper pack right now, but I'm totally going to take out my jovial pack now that you mentioned it(why, yes, I DO have them all. why do you ask?)
Beautiful card! Love the innovation of making your own leaves!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I thought it was purposely done to show a range of stitching, much like a sampler...
