Ringing in the New Year!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! It was busy around here, day and night. It feels great to be in tonight on New Year's Eve with my family, just hanging out. We have been going non-stop since the kids have been out of school and we are all worn out!

A few shares tonight before 2011 gets here...

Here is a card I made for one of my special friends who gets a handmade, one of a kind card, every year. She truly loves getting them and frames some to display at Christmastime.

The Christmas trees were traced and cut out from Paper-Source stencils and then I covered them with glitter. There is some Bazzill, Making Memories and October Afternoon too. :)

Then I made a couple little gift bags for neighbors that I put homemade goodies in. I used a Basic Grey embellie for the bag and then die cut a tag and stamped it with Papertrey Ink supplies. Tied on a ribbon with some berries and voile!

Then, on Christmas Eve, we had a very special visitor at my mom and dad's house...

Santa himself! The kids were so excited and couldn't believe their little eyes! It truly was magical...

Anna kisses Santa when he tells her his Elves put some extra "Go-Go Puppies" on the sleigh. A wonderfully priceless photo!

Elan getting cool with Santa... he was described tonight as a "Carnival." That about sums up his little personality! ;)

Mac was a little timid about seeing Santa... I think this might be his last year believing in the "Big Man Himself." He has asked a lot of questions this year, but being the sweet boy he is, he does it privately so none of the other kids hear. We have loads of cousins!

It was my niece, Claudia and my nephew, Graham's first Christmas. They were jolly little babies all day long!

Christmas morning was a delight, to say the least! Everyone got their Christmas wish...

Elan got a Polar Express train set. Finding it alone was a Christmas miracle!

Anna got her "Go-Go Puppy!"

Mac was so surprised that he got the Star Wars set he wanted! His expression says it all!

We made lots of new Christmas memories this year and hope to make more in the new year ahead. Happy New Year to you all!

'Tis the season...

To stay up late! My goodness... so much to do in such little time! I always think I'm prepared and organized, and then December 1st comes and I'm panicking! Shopping, baking, hosting, wrapping, crafting, oh my! B R E A T H E... ahhh... much better! :)
The kids had a snow day today which was actually not too bad. It forced me to stay home and I caught up on laundry, got some stationery work done and wrapped a few gifts. This year I bought my gift paper at Michael's, but tied the most delicious red, satin ribbon on each of them.

You can get that yummy red ribbon at Paper-Source. And, speaking of gifts, I made a present card using some Doodlebug Designs flocked paper. I added some tulle, vellum, hand cut leaves, a bit of glitter and some May Arts ribbon to jazz up that gift!

Enjoy the rest of the night... stay warm! I'm hoping to wrap up my shopping tomorrow with my dear old dad on our annual Christmas shopping trip together- we always have so much fun! Night!

December Already!

How the time does fly! It's been a couple of weeks since my last post and I want to apologize for that! It's been busy... daily life, the unexpected and already, a hectic holiday season! I'm enjoying my Christmas decorations and the outdoor lights and feel cozy under a blanket with the cold, brisk wind outside. We are expecting a little snow tonight! :)

This is a patchwork card that measures 5x7" that I made and even framed a few to give as gifts, and sold out of them at the Temptations show in November. The card base is black glossy with the flocked dot paper on top. I love all the little squares of art on this card... so much to look at!

I still have lots to accomplish over the weekend to stay on schedule, but hopefully I'll be able to pop back in for a quick share or two!

P.S. To all my new bloggy friends: WELCOME! :) I'm happy to have you here!

Just Poppin' In...

I have neglected the blog... so sorry... something had to be put on the back burner because I have been so busy. It's gift giving time and I am very thankful that I have so many loyal, wonderful repeat customers that want to give Paper Doll Stationery! I am blessed...

The Temptations show last week was very successful, I just finished the last of the personalized orders today. So, now, I can breathe for 10 minutes before I get back to working on more stock for the show at Glassworks on Saturday. Like I said... BUSY.

Anyway, I wanted to share this layout I did a few weeks ago of Anna at the beach. She was so pleased with all the treasures she found that summer and I wanted to remember it...

I have to run... by Christmas, I'm pretty sure my printer will need to be replaced. I'm surprised it hasn't started smoking yet. ;)

Soccer Mom

The challenge going on right now at These Are a Few of My Favorite Things is to scrap your fave sport. This is a no brainer for me... SOCCER! Stephen played in high school and college and all three of the kids play. So, needless to say, half the year, we spend on the soccer field. This year, however, was extra exciting... it was Anna's first year of soccer at St. Albert and Stephen was the coach. It was a great season...

I used a few random papers- literally laying on my floor, and added a few SRM stickers, black half beads, ribbon and those clouds are die cut from a PTI die and felt. I LOVE Papertrey Ink!!! Just got a special delivery from them today! ;)

Off I go... work, work, work!

It's been a while...

I felt like I hadn't scrapped in so long... then, Friday night I got to scrap with my favorite crafty girls and it was such fun! I got a few layouts done and some fun conversation was had! It's been a while since I've visited Sketchy Thursdays and played along with their sketch, so this is the layout based on their sketch for this week...

The sketch...
The layout is of my sweet as sugar niece, Claudia. She is so precious and I am honored to be her Godmother. These picture are from her baptism day.

Now that daylight savings time is over, it's almost dark at our house. The kids will turn in earlier and nights full of snuggling with a show or a book are upon us. I love the crisp air and cold nights... make me want to craft! ;)

Found my mojo...

Happy Thursday! I have been struggling with a sinus infection all week and the loss of my crafty mojo. I'm feeling better and I believe I have found my mojo again, as I am beginning a few scrapbook pages and moving along on other crafty projects.
I have been preparing for a few holiday shows coming up in the middle of the month and cute stationery is piling up! I made some fun sketch books for a customer recently and here are a few samples:

Little books like these are a great way to use some scraps and my felt birds really dress things up and make a project more interesting! They also make great gifts- for adults and kids!
I hope you have a crafty day!

Happy Halloween!

Thought I would share a picture of my little goblins... These are a couple of cards I made last year, I still love the simple, vintage style. Sadly, all 8 that I made have sold.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Halloween Treats

Let me tell you about the treat I found today... Pumpkin Egg Nog! You know it's holiday time when you find Egg Nog at the local grocery store! Woo-hoo! I LOVE the stuff and wished they carried it all year long... now, back to sipping on thousands of calories laced with a bit of bourbon!

It's been busy around here with Halloween and end of season soccer banquets, but we have managed to stay afloat and continue to gorge ourselves with candy. I hope there is enough left for the trick-or-treaters. Speaking of treats again, here is the little goody bag that the kids took in to their teachers yesterday:A delicious mixture of candy corn and peanuts... who could resist?! Yum!
The stamp I used is from Stampin' Up! and it says, "It's Halloween... enjoy every bite!" I used a polka dot background stamp to make the tag base and the black and white is an adhesive border from Colorbok. I finished it off with orange tulle and black and orange raffia.

And now, a special little something... I am doing a giveaway for one lucky, crafty lady. Her name is LEA. Lea, you just won a feltie and personalized stationery of your choice. Please email me at profumo@bellsouth.net and I will give you all the details! Congrats! ;)

I will continue to do a giveaway to one lucky blog follower a month. I am not basing it on comments or contests, just picking someone at random! Enjoy the rest of the weekend and spread the love...

Collage Swap

I recently participated in a swap at My Paper Pantry. The swap was a "Journal Me This" theme and I was matched up with a partner I had to get to know. It was very fun and I made my collage based on what my partner likes and what she is inspired by to create.

I hope she likes it!

Invitation & Thank Yous

Anna's sixth birthday has come and gone, but I forgot to share her invitations and matching thank you notes I made. I purchased the digital images off Etsy and designed them the way I wanted. They turned out pretty cute! I'm in love with these fill-in thank you notes, the biggest reason... Anna can write them herself!
I can't believe October is almost over. Do you have your trick-or-treats ready? Are your little ghouls costumes together? We have a Halloween event tonight, and I can't wait to get the kids dressed up- a skeleton, a cowgirl and a police officer. It will be fun! :)
I have been busy preparing for my holiday show, Temptations, and working on some Christmas gifts. If you are in the Louisville area, you should check out the show- it's November 16, 17 & 18. Click HERE for more information.

Holiday Hoot!

I have a bloggy friend who suggested I make a Christmas owl. I said, "Brilliant!" and then got to work and this is what I came up with...Isn't he adorable? How cute would this be on a green long sleeve t-shirt? This Holiday Hoot owl will be available in my Etsy shop soon!
The holidays are quickly approaching... are you ready?

Finally... A Layout!

Look at what I have here... a scrapbook layout. These pictures of Anna, and the paper and stickers have been sitting on my desk for well over two weeks now. I finally got to get crafty today for a short time and put it all together. Elan was home sick today with the stomach bug, so most of my day was spent with him, wiping a behind and fetching drinks and Tylenol. The little guy is much better tonight. :)
Anna was in a "mood" and Stephen was behind the lens. He caught these funny pictures of her and they were begging to be scrapped! I inked the edges of the flower stickers and added some buttons and half pearls to the centers. I also hand stitched two sides of the layout- it looks really cool in person!
I used an old Sketchy Thursdays sketch for the layout too...

I hope to craft a bit more tomorrow, since the laundry is caught up and the house has been disinfected. Have a good night!

6 Years...

It goes by so quickly... today is Anna's 6th birthday. She has grown so much in a year and it only feels like a month ago she was just born! Where, or where does the time go? Anna has done so much this past year that I find myself asking, "who is this beautiful girl and what has she done with my baby?"
Just over the summer alone, Anna learned how to ride her bike without training wheels, she got her ears pierced (then took them out 6 weeks later because she didn't want them in anymore), learned to swim strokes and go off the diving board.
No training wheels! This is one of my favorite layouts!
A day at the pool with Mac and cousin, Brooke

She continues to love all arts and crafts, animals, pretending, reading books, snuggling with her blankie, and still wants to be a Zoo Keeper when she grows up!
Snuggling with Wrigley and a stuffed puppy

Anna also started Kindergarten this year. She loves going to school everyday and is learning to read, speak Spanish, playing on the soccer team, and making so many new friends... Molly is still her fave! ;)Anna's first day of school
Anna and Molly after their first soccer game.

Anna's friends at her birthday party- they are showing off their decorated goody bags for pinata candy!

Lots of wonderful memories made in just a years time! I can't wait to see what this year brings! Happy 6th birthday, sweet girl! I love you!

Miss Me?

Hi there... have you missed my presence in the blog world? I took a little break. I have been busy with other things, like tennis and home decor, party planning, and filling orders from my stationery website. I've been pretty much non-stop! So, the blog posts took a back seat. This weekend Stephen and I are hosting our first dinner club event and Anna's birthday party is Sunday. So, cooking and cleaning are in my future...
Before I rush into the homemaker duties, I'm going to share a card. I used this sketch from the Get Sketchy challenge:
And this is my card:
I used some fun fall scraps and the flower is Prima. I pulled the center out of the flower and added button and twine. The brown edge is the eyelet die from Papertrey Ink. I cut it out of brown and then cut it in half to add it to the top and bottom of the stripe paper. A nice welcome to fall!

Pretty Fast

Here's a pretty little card I made, mostly with scraps laying on my table. I adore the blossom ribbon from American Crafts, it's so versatile! And, thanks to my girl, Sammye Jo, I have it in almost every color! ;) I added some adhesive pearls to the middle of the blossom and the sentiment is stamped on punched circles I cut in half. The stamp is Papertrey Ink, of course! Pretty and fast, just like this post... hence the title. Gotta bolt!
Which I have to also say, thank heavens Michael Bolton was voted off DWTS last night. It was just painful watching him dance and take criticism.

Cute Shares

Last weekend, my niece, Claudia got baptized. I am her godmother, too! I got her a sweet gift, but I also wanted to make her something special... her nursery is pink with owls and birds, so my wheels were turning...

I got a plain wooden frame at my LSS and painted it with pink, white, and raspberry. I wrote Claudia's name with a pencil first, then painted it black. The finishing touch was one of my cute felt owls (available HERE in my Etsy shop). The photo opening is for a 3.5x5 picture.
This is the picture I used in the frame. My brother, Nate and his beautiful family:
Here's Claudia in her baptismal gown. My mom made it and all the grandchildren have worn it.
My sweet baby... I love her so much and I'm so honored to be her aunt and godmother!

New Bird Felties!

Hey there, friends! I haven't forgotten about you, please don't think I have abandoned the bloggy world! It's been a while since my last post, and there is a reason for that... I have been super busy creating! Unfortunately, not for myself... I have a BIG arts and crafts show this weekend I have been preparing loads of stationery and other goodies for, working with a bride on her special projects, and I did a scrapbook and 6 shadow box frames for a client. So, needless to say, I haven't been sitting on my duff twiddling my thumbs!
I updated the Etsy shop with lots of new felties:

One of the items I make at sell at my craft shows are these cute little sketch books. I cover chipboard, punch a hole in all the paper and attach a binder ring to hold them all together. I add ribbons for added cuteness!

And for tomorrow, a post on something super cute I made with one of my Etsy felt owls! You will love it! Happy Crafting!
