Jingle Belles- "Tagging Along"

This week, the Jingle Belles are playing "tag team" with the chics over at The Order of the Opus Gluei. So, our crafty instructions were to make a holiday card and something to go along with it... like a box, bag, tag, etc. I'm always in need of a tag, so that's what I chose as my second project.

All the papers and chipboard are from Crate Paper- I love the colors! The ice skates stamp and die (which I have used over and over and over again...) are from Papertrey Ink. If I could only choose one stamp set for the winter, this "On Ice" set from PTI would be it!
I had fun tagging along... Can't wait to see what everyone else makes! :)

I plan to print mine, jazz them up a bit and use them for place settings at my Easter table- my first time ever hosting! I'm thinking of adding them to a small white bag with chocolate mints inside, and some fringed paper grass at the bottom... ooo... the wheels are turning! So, go download these cuties and enjoy! ;)

Photo Inspiration

A couple of weeks ago, Cath, over at Moxie Fab World, had a Tuesday Trigger using this photo. I loved it... and even made a project using it as inspiration, but as you can see, I'm just now posting it! Here's the picture: And here's my project:
I chose to make a tag. I distressed it with ink and then added bits of this and that, stamped a PTI sentiment: "as treasured keepsakes warm the home, treasured friendships warm the heart" and that was about it. An easy project inspired by a pretty picture!

Hope you are cranking out all your Valentine's today! I'll share all of mine tomorrow!

Bag Tags

Papertrey Ink is continuing with all their challenges, new releases, giveaways and more for their fourth anniversary. It has truly been such fun, waking every morning to find new inspiration in my email box! Love it!
The challenge for today was to make a tag. I made two of the same because I had *two* special people in my life receive awards from my alma mater, Sacred Heart Academy.

Inside the decorated bags was a treat... Yummy white chocolate party mix! Everybody loves this treat, it's the perfect blend of sweet and salty, and makes a ton! I plan to give some with Valentines too! Want the recipe? I thought so!

White Chocolate Party Mix
2 packages of White Chocolate Bark- melted
5 Cups of Cheerios
5 Cups Rice Chex
1 1/2 bags of peanut M&M's
1 Bag pretzels

Mix all the dry ingredients in a big bowl and then pour melted chocolate over. Mix well. Spread onto wax paper or foil. Let cool 30 minutes and then break apart. Store in Tupperware or Ziploc bags, Will freeze up to 1 month.

It's a big hit, easy and cheep to make- perfect for mass gift giving! ;)

The Holidays Are Coming!

Good morning! The holidays are coming up, and I have to say... I'm ready! I decided that this year I would make lots of my gifts and start early to avoid the stress. I kept my word... I have gifts made, cards prepared, tags ready! I have had lots of fun creating new items: framed collages, felt and fabric brooches, appliqued t-shirts, and more! But today, I will share one of my Christmas cards and one of my tags.

I love how this gift turned out: a little glitter, a little tulle, a couple hand cut leaves and ribbon tied it all together. I adore that flocked polka dot paper from Doodlebug Designs. Card base is chartreuse from Waste Not Paper.

I embellished a shipping tag with this pre-printed reindeer tag from Martha Stewart. I added some glitter, leaves and a coordinating corner, then inked the edges of the tag.
So, today, I am going fishing with Stephen and the kids. I am not fishing, but crafting. My job is to keep Elan entertained when he's sick of throwing his line in. ;) I have a basket full of things to do and it's going to be a pretty day, so why not craft outdoors?! Hope you all have a great weekend!
