Clean and Simple... again!

I loved the Clean and Simple Stamping blog so much after the Jingle Belles steered me their way, that I picked another one of their sketches to work with. I actually made two cards...
This one is most like the sketch:
 Here's the sketch:

And this one, well, I flipped the sketch and added some ribbon and a button. Still CAS, but with a little "ooh!'
I used Paper Smooches flower stamp and stamped flowers in grey and one in black. Colored the black one in with my Copics and added one little rhinestone in the center. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink. Both cards were very easy and made them in less than 30 minutes.
I know you are wondering were I got that amazing color of seam binding ribbon... my mom. She gave me tons of colors all on these vintage spools! She said she paid like .10 cents for a spool of 100 yards! Gotta love that! And mom, I know you're reading this... these cards are part of your collection. ;)

Clean and Simple = Love

Those cute Jingle Belles are teaming up with the Clean and Simple Stamping gals this week! I don't care what it is, I love clean and simple- it's my style... it's just how I roll, k? So, imagine my excitement when I was handed not only a sketch, (love!) but also the instructions to keep it clean and simple! Holy awesome, Batman! I'm on it!
Here's what I came up with:
A close up of all those delicious Basic Grey chipboard embellishments... I only have 3 left from the pack!!! I also used October Afternoon paper and stickers and added a few tiny clear rhinestones.

And last, but not least, the sketch:

I hope you'll play along! You have until Wednesday at 6 pm to add your link. AND, the Jingle Belles have a swell prize up for grabs to one lucky, random participant! Woo-hoo!

A Sketchy Thursday Layout on Monday!

It's been a while since I've played along with Sketchy Thursdays! When I saw this weeks sketch, I immediately knew what pictures I wanted to scrap. I liked the sketch, but flipped it clockwise once to work with my photos and title.
Here's the layout:
This is Mac at the Crossover Ceremony for Cub Scouts. They walk across a wood 2x4 and "crossover" from a cub to a bear. He was so proud to be in the next level of scouting... A Bear!

Here's the sketch:
I hope you get to play along... you have until 10 p.m. on Wednesday to get your scrap on!
Have a good night!

You're the Best!

Happy Friday! Getting ready to leave for a girls weekend to do some scrappin' and craftin' and eatin'! Super excited, but first I wanted to share a fun card using the Card Patterns sketch for the week. Here's my card:

Card Patterns Sketch

I am always in need of a birthday card- especially with as many nieces and nephews that I have! When I saw this weeks Card Patterns sketch, I knew exactly what I was going to do...
I love that this card can be used for a boy or a girl. The banner is from the border sticker collection from Pink Paisley and the lion dimensional sticker is by Recollections at Michael's- it came in a pack of 6 darling animals wearing birthday hats and the entire pack was only $0.99!!! I only have 2 stickers left... need to pick up another pack! I added some punched circles, stamped a couple Hero Arts stars, added a button and twine and viola!
Here's the sketch:

Hope you get a chance to play along! You have until this Friday, July 1st.

For the love of card making...

Oh, how I adore this card... the design, the colors, the embellishments. Jingle Belles has definitely become one of my favorite weekly challenges! I love their prompts, sketches, inspiration and the instant gratification of getting a card done in 25% of the time it would take to do a layout. AND, I'm totally getting a huge stash of Christmas cards done! Here's the sketch they used for this weeks prompt:
I am diggin' this sketch. I am saving it for future reference... I can totally see a birthday card in the making very soon!

In the Limelight!

Limelight Papercrafts had a great sketch this week. I thought it was so great that I made two cards! Tonight, we celebrated my younger brother and one of my sister-in-law's birthdays over dinner at my mom and dad's. So, I needed two birthday cards anyway! I didn't post them until now because my SIL reads my blog! ;)
Here is the sketch, and you had to use string on your card as an added challenge. This one was for my brother. I used American Crafts paper and a bit of baker's string on the button!
This one, for my sweet SIL. It's kinda vintage and soft, but I still like it! The cupcake is a Martha Stewart punch.
So, if you haven't checked out Limelight Papercrafts, please do! A great blog and a fantastic shop to boot!
Night! ;)

Finally... A Layout!

Look at what I have here... a scrapbook layout. These pictures of Anna, and the paper and stickers have been sitting on my desk for well over two weeks now. I finally got to get crafty today for a short time and put it all together. Elan was home sick today with the stomach bug, so most of my day was spent with him, wiping a behind and fetching drinks and Tylenol. The little guy is much better tonight. :)
Anna was in a "mood" and Stephen was behind the lens. He caught these funny pictures of her and they were begging to be scrapped! I inked the edges of the flower stickers and added some buttons and half pearls to the centers. I also hand stitched two sides of the layout- it looks really cool in person!
I used an old Sketchy Thursdays sketch for the layout too...

I hope to craft a bit more tomorrow, since the laundry is caught up and the house has been disinfected. Have a good night!

Caardvarks Challenge!

The first Caardvarks challenge of 2010! It's a sketch... and here's my take...

Supplies: Light pink card base, Patterned Paper: Words, Bo Bunny; Stripe, Making Memories, Heart, Prima. Letter Stickers, Heidi Grace. Scallop Border, hand cut on brown cardstock, Swirl Acetate, Hambley.

This is a pic of the sketch. If you want to join in, post your card by midnight tomorrow! I'm a procrastinator, a day in advance is pretty good!

Have a great day!
