Hang In There!

Good morning! Wanted to share this little card and goody bag I made for a friend of mine going through a rough patch.
I used the Paper Smooches set "Falling for You." This was the first set I purchased and it's still my favorite. Lots of cute images that can be used all year round! I stamped the bat and colored him with Copics and added black rhinestones for his eyes(which you can't see from this picture). I added some decorative tape, twine and chipboard buttons. I used stickers to spell out my sentiment.  I folded the card over and attached to a polka dot bag filled with Dove chocolates.
My friend loved it and I think it cheered her up. Mission accomplished! :)

Peace

This weeks Jingle Belles prompt is "Peace." You can use the word peace or a peace symbol. I love the Paper Smooches stamp set, "Pretty Phrases" and that's where I started.
I embossed the sentiment in white on kraft and then added my patterned paper, felt border and small stitched felt heart. I used the new Claudine Hellmuth Studio stamps for my bird. First, I stamped him with white paint, then ink chocolate ink for the outline. I added a small silver rhinestone for an eye. This card was pretty easy and could easily be mass produced.
Enjoy!

With Sympathy...

Unfortunately, I've had to send a few sympathy cards in the last week. I got out my new Basic Grey Out of Print paper pad and used Paper Smooches Friendly Flowers stamp set. Added some ribbon, colored and paper pieced the flower and then used my Papertrey set for the sentiment. Easy, pretty, tasteful.

I hope the recipients felt a little sun on their face when they got the card. It's always hard to lose someone you love...

Celebrating Today...

We are celebrating tonight! My cousin is getting married while we are here at the beach. I can't say that I have ever been to a beach wedding, and Anna is so excited that she gets to go! She has never seen a real life bride! ;) This is the card I made for the new, happy couple...

I love the soft colors and the ivory seam binding ribbon with a vintage button makes it a bit romantic, don't cha think? Enjoy your day... hope the sun is shining on you!

Teacher Card

Good morning, friends! A quick post today to share a cute card that I made for one of Anna's teachers. I used Paper Smooches apple from the "Falling for You" set. Let me tell you, I have used this apple stamp a lot! Love it and very versatile!
Like I said, quick post... Blogger is on my very last nerve.

Thanks, Teacher!

I love this Paper Smooches apple stamp! I have used it several times and have had fun paper piecing it with different patterns. This card came together nicely with all the fun, bright colors!
A close up of the card- the envelope has a little card in it that I stamped with a Hero Arts sentiment.
That's all for today... didn't get much sleep last night and the day was full. We have added a new member to the family... a guinea pig named Henry. More on that later. ;)

Mmm...whaa!

Paper Smooches is on the hunt for their next Guest Designer! I thought I would submit a couple cards I made last week when my new stamp sets arrived! So, here is the first one: If you have ordered from PS before, you know that your new stamp set comes sweetly wrapped in glassine and tied with chocolate bakers twine. Since I am my mothers child, I tend to reuse or re purpose lots of items, and especially the cute ones! So, my card has a slip cover... It's like it's own little present! Open it to see the pretties... Here's a close up... A little vintage, mixed together with sweetness and surprise!

A Weeks Worth...

Lots of fun stuff to share today... a weeks worth of news and creations!

It's been a whole seven days since my last post, and I apologize for that! It was so busy with the kids on spring break and I had a three days girls weekend! So, let me start the roll of events that happened:

I got a few new stamp sets in the mail. One from Papertrey and a couple from Paper Smooches. I love this monster and cute sentiment that I used from 2 sets of Paper Smooches stamps:

I taught Anna how to use my SLR camera. Of course her favorite photo op was of me chopping onions:
*Note: for those of you who have sensitive eyes and cry buckets when you chop onions, put on a pair of goggles. I keep them in the kitchen drawer. ;)

We made a trip to the Zoo, spent a day hiking, the kids saw the new movie "Hop," went fishing a couple of times, and had a few play dates:

We celebrated my sister-in-law's, my niece and my birthday:

And Mac finally lost his first tooth:

I'm pretty sure he holds the record for loosing his first tooth at such a late age... he's 8!

And last but certainly not least... I got word Friday night I am being *PUBLISHED* for the very first time in CARDS September 2011 issue!!! I am so excited. Persistence finally pays off. :) Thanks to those of you who really believed in me. You know who you are and I love you for it!

I have a TON of layouts, cards and a mini album that I did on my 3 day scrappin' trip with the girls. I just got back yesterday evening, so I haven't had a chance to photograph any of my projects. I will post them asap!

Paper Smooches Cards!

Hello there! It's a rainy day... perfect for snuggling or crafting! I am working on an awesome project for a friend right now, I'll share more when it's done.

Today, I want to share two more cards I made for the Paper Smooches chance to be the guest design spot for April. Both the shamrock and the sentiment "lucky to have you" are *FREE!* They are digital images, so you can make them however big or small you want. Click here for your free images.

On this card, I used a scrap of printed transparency and I love how it added to the grid look: On this one, I colored the shamrock with Copics first, then added some green Stickles. I stamped "Good luck" in Smokey Shadow ink- both from Papertrey Ink.

If you have a chance to play along with the challenge... do! The images are super cute! And, if you get picked, you get 2 free stamp sets and 2 card templates! I just ordered my first set and I'm so excited!

Paper Smooches!

Paper Smooches is a new stamp company designed by Kim Hughes. You may know Kim from all her great work you see in Paper Crafts magazine. She is having a guest designer call for next month, so I decided to play along! You should to! Visit HERE for all the details!

This is my *first* card... I have two others that I will link up tomorrow.

I love this bird image! And, you know what? It's a FREE digital image from Paper Smooches! I love it paired with this October Afternoon paper and the sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts.

Have a great Sunday!
