A Two Pager!

This week, Sketchy Thursdays had a 2 page layout sketch! Usually, I hate doing a 2 pager because it typically takes twice as long. However, this time I was into it because I had some great pictures of Anna at her sixth birthday party. I always save an invitation to include in my layouts. (I also make the invitations myself... which explains the trendy banners!)
Here's the sketch... which was intimidating at first:

And my take:Here are the pages individually:

How cute is that banner paper from My Minds Eye? It matches my invitation perfectly! This is one of my favorite pictures of Anna, she is wearing the pinata as a hat!

So, I'm just making the sketch challenge entry by the hair of my chiney-chin-chin! It's been crazy busy around here! Not to mention that I decided last night to rip down the wallpaper in my giant foyer. What was I thinking?

A 2 Pager

Hello! Yes, it's been a while, but I have been painting and organizing and yes, a little crafting too, but no time to take pictures and post! Sketchy Thursday had a 2 page sketch for this week and at first, I looked at and *sigh* wanted to pass... but I came up with something anyway! Pictures that I adore in a place that I love... Harbor Town in Hilton Head, S.C.

The sketch:
My take:

I'll admit it, I hate doing 2 page layouts. I have gotten lazy and relied upon the American Crafts pocket pages to just slip my extra photos in next to a scrapped page. But, I really like this 2 pager... it has inspired me to try more.

Have a great night in your neck of the woods...

Autumn Layouts

I know it's spring, but this is usually the time that I scrap Halloween and Christmas photos from sometimes, years past! This time around, I made life a little easier by using the 6 up 4x6 page protectors by American Crafts. That way, I can stick the photos in them, a journaling card and next to it, the layout. Some examples:

And this particular Halloween, I only had these 2 pictures, so I went ahead and stuck them on a layout...
So, if you're in the mood to scrap some Halloween and pumpkin patch pics, here's a little inspiration for ya'! And for tomorrow, Christmas!

2 Page Layout-o-rama!

Hello friends! Do you ever find yourself pondering over piles of pictures, trying to decide which ones to scrap, which ones to put in a photo album, which ones to ditch, and so on? Well, I have a couple of remedies for you! I used both ideas this weekend and they worked for me, so they are tried and true! Now, on to the goods...
This LO is of Anna's 5th birthday party. I always have a ton of birthday pictures and I always have a hard time deciding which ones to scrap. So, for this LO, I used the good ole' Walgreen's and had them do the hard part for me. I uploaded my pics, clicked on "collage," chose my format size (8x10), and added all the pics I wanted (up to 15!). I arranged them the way I wanted and for less than $3, I had a group of pics ready for a LO!
Our trip to Dinosaur World was super fun, and again, lots of pics were taken. I scrapped one page, then used a 6 pocket page protector from American Crafts (a pack of 10 costs $5.99 at Archiver's). I used 2 of the slots for a title and journaling spot and the rest of the pockets were filled with pics- ready for the album! I see myself using this technique/form of scrapping with vacation and holiday layouts. Easy peasy!

So, now that you know my two new favorite things to do with scrappin', here are two pages that were done with just wholesome, scrap goodness!

Our trip to Gulf Shores. I used the Snorkel line from Cosmo Cricket and Core'dinations paper. The pics I got on this trip were awful, due to a forgotten battery charger and a disposable camera. So, cutting up the pics was easy for me to do!

And this one of Elan, I have avoided it for over a year now... his first year "Growth Chart." Once I completed it, I felt I had conquered the world! It's pics of him at 1-2-4-6-9-12 months and his stats at the bottom of each. I love that it worked out that he was looking up at the bird holding the tape measure!

Okay... are you inspired? Go make a two page layout! It's not so scary... have a good night!
