Here's a pretty little card I made, mostly with scraps laying on my table. I adore the blossom ribbon from American Crafts, it's so versatile! And, thanks to my girl, Sammye Jo, I have it in almost every color! ;) I added some adhesive pearls to the middle of the blossom and the sentiment is stamped on punched circles I cut in half. The stamp is Papertrey Ink, of course! Pretty and fast, just like this post... hence the title. Gotta bolt!
Which I have to also say, thank heavens Michael Bolton was voted off DWTS last night. It was just painful watching him dance and take criticism.

Cute Shares
Last weekend, my niece, Claudia got baptized. I am her godmother, too! I got her a sweet gift, but I also wanted to make her something special... her nursery is pink with owls and birds, so my wheels were turning...
I got a plain wooden frame at my LSS and painted it with pink, white, and raspberry. I wrote Claudia's name with a pencil first, then painted it black. The finishing touch was one of my cute felt owls (available HERE in my Etsy shop). The photo opening is for a 3.5x5 picture.
This is the picture I used in the frame. My brother, Nate and his beautiful family:
Here's Claudia in her baptismal gown. My mom made it and all the grandchildren have worn it.

New Bird Felties!
Hey there, friends! I haven't forgotten about you, please don't think I have abandoned the bloggy world! It's been a while since my last post, and there is a reason for that... I have been super busy creating! Unfortunately, not for myself... I have a BIG arts and crafts show this weekend I have been preparing loads of stationery and other goodies for, working with a bride on her special projects, and I did a scrapbook and 6 shadow box frames for a client. So, needless to say, I haven't been sitting on my duff twiddling my thumbs!
I updated the Etsy shop with lots of new felties:
One of the items I make at sell at my craft shows are these cute little sketch books. I cover chipboard, punch a hole in all the paper and attach a binder ring to hold them all together. I add ribbons for added cuteness!
And for tomorrow, a post on something super cute I made with one of my Etsy felt owls! You will love it! Happy Crafting!Thursday, September 16, 2010

Papercraft Love...
The secret is out... I'm a
The next star I have to earn is in tennis... had my first lesson yesterday, it's been about 15 years since I had played. It was so much fun and an awesome workout! I'm not gunna lie, either... I can barely move today! Tennis is like riding a bike... you never forget how to do it!
My coffee layout below won the People's Choice Award at Papercraft Star! They start their new challenge today, so head on over and find some inspiration! This week, it's a sketch for a layout, and you know how I love a good sketch!
Thought I would also post a cute card I made recently. It's a little "shabby chic" isn't it? I like it, and it never hurts to add some handmade cards to your stash!

Caardvarks Challenge!
Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to the weekend... a date with Stephen, soccer games, my niece gets baptised, and I'm the God-mama, and hopefully a little craft time!
I haven't played along in Caardvarks challenge in a while, and they had a great sketch to play off of, so... what the hay... I gave it a go! The sketch:
The creation:
The stamps are from the "Up, Up & Away" set from Papertrey Ink. It's super fun to play with! Enjoy, and hope you all have a great weekend!

Best Witches!
Morning! I ventured off to a "new to me" card sketch challenge this week... 2 Sketches 4 You. It's a cute challenge blog that offers 2 sketches for you to create from, and we all know how I love a good sketch! It gets the juices flowing! So, here's one of the two that I chose to do:
The card... another Halloween one. The yellow ruffle is crepe paper and the rest is all scraps leftover from scrappin'. Notice the 31 on the yellow crossword puzzle paper? :)
If you haven't visited 2 Sketches 4 You, take a peek... you'll like what you see! ;)

Two for One!
It's Wednesday, and that means I bust my hump to get my Sketchy Thursdays project uploaded in time! Well, I have a treat for you... the sketch was quick, easy and wonderful, and I made a layout and a card!
So, presenting the sketchy sketch...
My Card... a Halloween one, because it's coming up and it's my fave holiday! ;) My Layout... brace yourself, this is a funny one...

The mustaches are not photo-shopped in... they are those stick on ones. Stephen and I laughed ourselves silly when Mac and Anna put them on! So funny...
Sorry I have been MIA the past several days. Elan has been sick with fever and barfs over the weekend, and today he woke up cursed with the Ohio Valley allergies. Stay tuned... I have pre-scheduled posts lined up for the next few days! Wa-hoo! Have a great night!

Vintage Birthday?
Yes, vintage... I made a vintage birthday card for Stephen's grandmother, Mamaw. Her birthday is coming up in a few weeks. The vintage style is appealing to me, but very hard for me to create. I prefer the fun colors and whimsy style. Although, I did have fun making this card and inking it up to make it look "old."
I used the Get Sketchy card sketch for the week which is this:
And the end result: Sorry the picture is so bad. It was dark in my studio when I took the pic and using my Adobe tools just made it look worse! You get the jist! Have a great day... we are expecting a cold front! Yipee!

Lucy's Love...
My niece, Lucy, has always been in love with Mac. She always follows him around and gives him hugs and kisses when she can! My sweet Mac, simply puts up with it and lets her think that he, too, is in love with her. Last summer, while we were in Hilton Head, I captured these adorable pictures of Mac and Lucy together. This particular night, Lucy was wanting to dance with Mac, on top of all her doting efforts... Mac just grinned and bared it!
A close up of all the yummies!
And, before I forget... I got a little off the subject! This is a sketch from, who else, Sketchy Thursdays! Here's the sketch, you have until 10 p.m. today to enter if you want to play along! I turned the sketch once, clockwise to go off of!
Have a great day!
